Doggie

Most every child wants to have a dog.  When our children were small we lived in an apartment and couldn't have a dog.  So instead, we would go to the park and make friends with dogs there.  This is the happy story of our children getting to know a new canine friend. From Red's recording for the very young, "Can You Sound Just Like Me?"

Doggie

Chorus
Doggie, why don't you come over here?
Doggie, why don't you come over here?
I wanna play with you and when we're through
I'll scratch you behind your ears
Doggie, why don't you come over here?

Doggie, when you sniff I wanna sniff
Doggie, when you sniff I wanna sniff
Anything new comes by you
You take a great big whiff
Doggie, when you sniff I wanna sniff

Doggie, when you lick I wanna lick
Doggie, when you lick I wanna lick
You lick me just like I lick a popsicle on a stick
Doggie, when you lick I wanna lick

Doggie, when you sleep I wanna sleep
Doggie, when you sleep I wanna sleep
You lay in the sun where it's nice and warm
In a great big funny old heap
Doggie, when you sleep I wanna sleep

Doggie, when you bark I wanna bark
Doggie, when you bark I wanna bark
Chase that cat up the tree
And all around the park
Doggie, when you bark I wanna bark

Doggie, when you howl I wanna howl
Doggie, when you howl I wanna howl
Every time the siren whines
You throw back your head and yowlllll
Doggie, when you howl I wanna howl

Chorus

Come here doggie... come on, come on
I'm not gonna hurt you
Come on doggie... that's right
Yeah, nice doggie
Guess what, I've got a bone for you
But first you've got to race me to that tree
Ready, set, go...
